Jordan Shanks (formerly Tufnail) grew up in the Comox Valley in an active family. Excelling in athletics Jordan chose to pursue a varsity soccer career and obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport, Health and Physical Education from Vancouver Island University. Shanks incurred multiple sports related injuries over her athletic career and always attended physical therapy to rehabilitate. The combination of her injury history, undergrad and job working as a personal trainer led her down the Physical Therapist career path. She attained her Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of British Columbia before returning home to practice. Shanks furthered her education with courses in Vestibular Rehabilitation, Functional Dry Needling (FDN/IMS), Graston Technique and Manual Therapy Methods. Her experience working with The Joint Family in private practice allowed her to work with a wide variety of patient populations across all ages, including orthopedic, vestibular and neurological conditions. Outside of Oakwood Jordan can currently be found in a clinic setting working with the amazing team at Fresh Tracks! Empathy, encouragement and expertise are the cornerstones of Jordan’s approach. Her passion for helping her patients achieve their goals and re-gain their confidence is what drives her practice.
Jordan loves where she lives, taking advantage of all the Valley and the Island have to offer in outdoor adventure with her family. Up the mountain, in the forest, or on the water, if it’s outside the chances are her family is participating!
